Plot Outline: A college dropout gets a job as a broker for a suburban investment firm, which puts him on the fast track to success, but the job might not be as legitimate as it sounds.
Plot: A morally decent college dropout finds himself at conflict with his harsh federal judge father. He gets a job as a stock broker and gets on the fast track to success. Only things take a turn for the worst when he learns that his job isnt whats it cracked up to be.

Crazy Credits: We know about 1 Crazy Credits. One of them reads:
At the start of the film, the New Line Cinema studio logo features the faces from various U.S. Dollar bills, and the studio fanfare music uses a hip-hop “scratch” sound effect.

Goofs: We know about 11 goofs. Here comes one of them:
Incorrectly regarded as goofs: After Seth and Chris have their argument in the stairwell right off of the boiler room, Seth goes down at least one flight of stairs on his way out. In the next scene he passes Abby in the receptionist area that is on the same floor as the boiler room – because hes been bumped upstairs to nicer offices.

Trivia: There are 5 entries in the trivia list – like these:

    • Greg tells Chris to get his “One Race” hands off his money. Chris is played by Vin Diesel, whos production company is called One Race Productions.
    • In the scene where Chris (Vin Diesel) and Seth (Giovanni Ribissi) are waiting outside Gregs (Nicky Katte) house, we never see the car move or get turned on. Before they shot the scene Ben Affleck was sitting in the car, listening to music. He accidentally took the car keys home with him. They absolutely had to shoot the scene that night and couldnt find Ben. They shot the scene with the car where it is and lit up the house so there wouldnt be a reflection of the camera and crew.
    • Ratners, the restaurant Seth and his family eat dinner in, is the same restaurant that Gene Hackman and Roy Scheider stake out in “The French Connection” (1971)

Seduced by the money and gifts showered on him, he is totally oblivious to the more sinister side of his company. Then, two Associates are murdered. Hackmans contract called for his name to come before the title in all promotional materials (trailers, posters, etc.); Tom Cruises contract called for his name and his name only to come before the title in all promotional materials. Hackman opted to leave his name off all promotional materials altogether, leaving his presence a surprise to most audiences. In the film itself, Hackmans name comes after Cruises and before the title.
    • The scene where Mitch McDeere meets with the Morolto mob in the Peabody Hotel was not filmed at the Peabody. The scene was filmed in a private apartment in the Shrine Building in downtown Memphis. The occupant of the apartment was paid to allow the studio to move out all of his belongings, and he stayed at the Peabody until the scene was filmed. The Peabody was not used in the scene because the hotel has an obstructed view of the Mississippi River, where as the Shrine is closer.

Plot: Widowed when his FBI agent wife is killed in an FBI anti-terrorist operation gone wrong, a college professor (Bridges) becomes increasingly obsessed with the culture and sub-society of these dangerous groups. The arrival of new neighbors (Robbins, Cusack), gives him new spirit, as they are gregarious and friendly, with two children (Gamble, Green) that his son (Clark) can be friends with. He is even beginning to see another woman (Davis). However, he begins to suspect something is odd about the neighbors, something about the way they dont want him to see certain parts of the house, or a set of blueprints they have there. Are his neighbors terrorists… or is the stress of losing his wife merely driving him past the point of paranoia?

    • The script for “Arlington Road”, written by Ehren Kruger, was discovered when it won the Nicholl Fellowship Screenwriting competition from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This film is only the sixth winner of the competition to actually be produced.
    • The car crash during the climactic chase scene was unplanned; the plan was for the car to duck behind the oncoming bus and complete the left turn. When the collision occurred, the car trunk sprung open, revealing the bright blue sandbags that had been placed there to allow certain stunts. The quick cuts following the collision are necessary to avoid showing the sandbags. Subsequent shots including the car had already been filmed, and show a markedly less-damaged car.

    • At the time of filming, author John Grisham had casting approval over all film adaptations of his work and specified that “no professional child actors in Hollywood” be cast as Mark Sway. He felt that the film wouldnt work with a well-known child actor (sporting a phony accent) in the role and that by casting an unknown in the part (preferably from the Memphis area where the story is set) the films credibility wouldnt be compromised. Brad Renfro, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee beat out thousands of actors for the role including Macaulay Culkin.
